Welcome to my soundclick.com page! This is all music I've written and produced in my spare time. I'm currently looking for people to collaborate with with instrumentals, production, and vocals ... I started Friend For A Foe to have complete creative freedom without the limitations of bandmember's personal tastes and creative clashes. It's been a labor of love for quite some time and now it's all coming together with my new equipment (as of March 2008). I'm going to start posting more than just complete songs, but rather ideas, mix tests, etc so everyone can get a feel of where I'm heading musically. I'd love to make Friend For A Foe a band in the future, but seeing as though I'm in the US Navy, it's a little difficult to start a band (especially considering I'm in the Middle East right now). Well I'll stop rambling and let you get to enjoying my music. Thanks for stopping by!
Why this name?
It was a long process...I went through several name changes throughout the years, but "Friend For A Foe" stuck on me because I've always rooted for the "underdog" in society or the one who's not completely accepted by others (thus Friend For A Foe)
Do you play live?
I'll occasionally perform for whomever, but due to the fact I'm a one man band, it makes it kind of hard to do shows ... I have been offered by quite a few bands and music industry people to do shows or tours, but many times I had to turn them down due to lack of equipment and/or band members haha. I miss playing live shows though ... there's nothing like creating a mosh pit with your music in front of a couple of hundred (or thousand) people...good times
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm all for the free exchange of music, but if it comes down to the little guy getting cut from his dues then it's not so great. But with this website, MySpace and several others, promoting your music is easier than ever, which is really not a band thing (free publicity is not bad at all). Plus you can be lazy and not go to the store...you can just sit and click and get what you want.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but as long as I still had the creative freedom of expressing myself through my music. I wouldn't bow down to that crap "MTV image" thing that so many bands do nowadays.
Band History:
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember...I've played guitar, bass, and drums for close to 7 years now and I just have an appreciation of music as a whole. I've been in several bands such as the UKs Emergency Exit and Flatline, and Maryland's Earthborn. Friend For A Foe has been a labor of love for quite some time (4+ years) and I've gone through many names (To Kill A Statue, Red Letter Edition, and finally Friend For a Foe).
These are all self produced and self-made songs you hear on this page. I will say this: Everything you hear is done by me...I'm not a band, but one guy (you don't how many times people thought I was a whole group on my last profile lol). Hope you enjoy!
Your influences?
I love all types of music, but metal is where it's at. Everday situations inspire me too ... something as simple as a cell phone ringtone or something as complex as losing a loved one ... anything could pop up at any given moment. As far as name-dropping some bands (in no particular order) goes I'd go with:

- August Burns Red
- Nevermore
- Soilwork
- Meshuggah
- SIKTH
- Thrice
- All That Remains
- As I Lay Dying
- Tool
- Deftones
- Machine Head
- Textures
- The Human Abstract
- Strapping Young Lad
- Threat Signal
- Unearth
- Metallica
- Trivium
- Ion Dissonance
- Between The Buried and Me
- Dillinger Escape Plan
- Darkest Hour
- Every Time I Die
- Dream Theater
- Kirkpetrucci
- Bulb
- Chimp Spanner
- Elements
- Greg Pope
- Metal Jonus

I could keep going, but you should get the point by now haha. I likes teh mehtulz
Favorite spot?
Anywhere where there's people...I do miss Maryland though. Good ol' Baltimore music scene...I'm stationed in the Middle East right now so there's not much of a "scene"... BUT most of the military personnel here love my music
