Spoken Word

FreedomINFINITE is one of the most stellar spoken word duos to hit the planet Earth. Comprised of two distinct and powerful voices--Obi Adisa Asad and Deshone, these two brothers have been blowing up open mics and stages all across Los Angeles and Long Beach. From opening for accomplished artists such as The Pharcyde to performing at the last Black Business Expo in Los Angeles, these cats leave a tight impression upon anyone who hears them. They have two chapbooks under their belt and an upcoming album entitled "The Cleansing." Their EP "That's Gangsta" can be heard here and on fellow Hip Hop afficionado DJ Soul-O's page over at www.myspace.com/westcoastunknownproductions. Keep your ears and eyes peeled to the goodness as FreedomINFINITE continues to build. This page will undergo constant updates.
Band/artist history
We've been doing this for four years going on five. We met at Cal State Long Beach and we've been brothers ever since. It's not enough to say we're friends, we're brothers. Since then, the ride has been one crazy ass roller coaster. We've met some cool cats and some shady characters. We've published two chapbooks of our poetry, and we are currently recording our full length album. So, we're having fun.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We have been all over Los Angeles and Long Beach performing live. Honestly, performing is more fun than recording. But both are fun and we get a lot out of it. We once performed at Co-lab in Santa Monica and we took 25 minutes to read a team piece. The host, Rachel Kann, didn't stop us because we were so good, but she did tell us about the time constraints after we finished. We felt bad about it, but we felt good that she didn't stop us because she dug us. We even made some friends and a couple of drunk girls hit on us after that.
