Exit's a three member band from Montreal Quebec Canada playing primarely the late 70's to late 80's era of Rush's repitoire, although we do also play songs from the complete catalogue in our shows.
Why this name?
We chose that name because we wanted something that would distinctly suit what we were trying to accomplish with our live sound and show, when you see us your going to hear the classic overdriven bass, the lush analog synths, and everything else that goes along with a Rush show , we have recently decided to update the show a bit to
give it a more modern sound and look thats comparable with what you'll get to see and hear at a modern Rush concert, even tributes have to
evolve eventually. LOL

Do you play live?
Yeah we play live wherever and whenever we can, but we mostly play on the eastern seaboard of Canada, but we have played quite extensively across north america. We love to play live, especially when the crowd is really into it,that makes lugging all that gear (and there's a LOT! of gear)all worth it.I love Rush fans, there the most devoted fans you'll ever meet.So far the apex for us has been performing
at RUSHCON 2003 , the North American Rush convention in Toronto Canada during the summer.
It wasn't our best performance to date but the
intensity at that gig from the crowd/attendies
was awesome , I've only experienced something
that intense a few times in my life ,it was
really cool and the fans were great as well.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the accessability of music through the internet has had a very positive impact on the industry, its opened the door to allow lesser known artists who may not be that viable in the so called (regular market) to get their music out there and get it heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not.
Band History:
We've been around since about 1987 with various different members. We started out as a average cover band playing mixed material, which eventually morphed into what is now Exit.
Your influences?
There's a lot of different stuff in there,Eric our drummer likes,Queensryche,Dream Theatre and other prog stuff,The guitarist Michel likes kinda the same stuff as well,My tastes go from things like Rush and Police to extreme gore metal and some underground punk.
Favorite spot?
My favorite place to be is at any Rush concert anywhere, i don't know about the other guys.
Equipment used:
The drummer endorses... Yamaha Drums,D.W.,Roland electronic percussion,and Zildjian.The guitarist endorses...Fender guitars and Amps,Gibson guitars,Ibanez and Ovation guitars. I use...Fender basses,Epiphone Guitars,Korg synths and processors,Roland synths,Yamaha synths,M.X.R.,Boss,Zoom and Ibanez effects,Dean Markley strings.
Anything else...?
We do this tribute cause we love it and its a lot
of fun,we don't try to take it too seriously
because we are ONLY covering someone elses
music anyway.Sometimes people(mostly musicians)
contact us and give us flack about imperfections in what we do , all i can say is we all make
mistakes , even Rush messes up live , you just gotta laugh it off.
