I chose to use my first and middle name because of their meaning: Erika, brave and victorious; Monique, consecrated advisor.

I play live with a band and enjoy it very much. Special moments are when the music is reaching its natural climax and the audience are enjoying the ride.

The internet allows me to produce and distribute my music virtually worldwide; the same opportunities are not as readily available through conventional means.

My goal is to establish my own record label and help educate others on promoting and supporting your craft.

Basically, I've been a musician for almost thirty years and have been writing for most of it. I play piano, saxophones, recorder, and bass, and I'm currently working adding percussion and guitar to the list. I've written countless number of songs, the most recent in rotation on KNLE 88.1 FM in Austin, Texas. Currently, I am writing and performing with a band but continue to find the need to express myself in a more intimate manner. My solo projects exist to express what I feel and want to communicate through song.

My musical influences are great; Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, Sting, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Sade, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Frankie Beverly and Maze, India Arie, Luther Vandross, U2.

My favorite spot is in any recording studio.
