Welcome to my Official Website,
The first thing you should know is that i'm a singer, songwriter, producer and artist living in Jacksonville, Fl. I've done a lot of work in the last 4 years. My Soundclick website has had around 38,000 page views since December of 2004 and i've recieved a handful of number 1 songs on their charts. Though not all them are "Billboard material" one thing is for certain, I am unmatched in my apprach to the art of songwriting.
My goal is to ultimately not just improve on my sound alone, but others as well through the influence of my music and art. The love I share in this respect should be abundantly clear to anyone just passing through from the other side taking a peak in at my world. Let this page be your guide in navigating your way around my website.
You'll also find other things of interest. Such as Events, Tours, Sound and Videos, Radio stations, Art work, ect. There is also a great deal of inter-activity going on here such as Articles in Blogs, Forums, ect. Everything all in in due time I suppose. I intend to make the News section a little more interactive through use of the forums.
I am proud to say i've worked hard through the years on my music and I am unashamed to thank even the people who I have known and have loved through the years, who's helped me along the way. Because really if we never made mistakes in life then we would never learn. I've got my fair share of regrets in life, just not the people or places. My life hasn't been easy but i've coped through most of the hard times with my music at my side. I've been travelling my whole life but I still find something special in each place I go & the people I meet. I'm sentimental in this idea cause I enjoy knowing that my life has some how made an impact on somebody. I hope that I make an impact on you here.
Sincerely, Timothy S. Epperhart
AKA, "Outlaw Son"
Timothy S. Epperhart has been playing acoustic guitar since he was 8 years old. Born on Feb. 2nd, 1981, he recieved his first guitar at the age of 8. Creating and singing his own music has always been his greatest passion. His personal songbook consists of over 200 songs, all of which have been self-written or picked up over the years by other influences and artists such as Queen, Hank Williams Sr., Ottis Redding, and others. He took his first alias, "The Invisible Man" back a few years ago when he realized that it was an acronym for his name, Tim. His first effort in making his music public was back in 2002, when he began uploading songs to garageband.com. His music is still there, but it was just his starting point. After recording 7 songs and being critiqued by both his fellow songwriters/singers, as well as journalists who viewed the website, he decided to take a long break from the public scene and went back to his roots in writing music.
After a long break, he eventually got back online at www.soundclick.com/epperhart where he posted the first of many songs since he decided to get back to what he enjoys the most - singing and writting music. If anything is certain about this multi-talented artist, it is that he is serious about his profession: making and writting music. Each song he has written has a meaning behind it about his own life, and like all great artists, they include lost love, happiness, joy, and sorrow. If you listen closely to his words, you will most likely find that you, yourself, can relate to them. After all, that is the kind of music we all listen to today... songs we can relate to. Weather anyone here or there would admit it; Timothy S. Epperhart is a force to be reckoned with.
An In-depth Interview with Timothy S. Epperhart
We sat down with Timothy to ask him a few questions about his life, his music, and his inspirations. This is what we got.
Q. Timothy, the first question I want to ask you is; What was the inspiration you had to first start writting and singing your own songs?
A: Initially it came from me being a teenager with an acoustic guitar and a lot of ideas on what I thought would make good music. It also came from me listening to a lot of different kind of music growing up. When I first started writing my own songs it was pretty much inspired by thoughts of love and teenage angst - and though I've never considered myself a politcal songwriter, some of my earlier work was more punk driven and more like total anarachy.
Q. Love and teenage angst, hmm? And how did those work out for you?
A: They were seperate up to a certain point I guess. Alot of what might be thought of as angst was the feeling of mystery between the two. There's a fine line between the love i've talked of in songs and the anger that came out of past failed relations. My understanding of it allis it's always been a way of release to those feelings.
Q. Is there a particular way you play your songs?
A: All the songs I play have something unique to say. If you've ever listened to my stuff, you'll probably note that most of it is all just simple chord song progressions. Sometimes I might go crazy with it, jam out and see where it takes me. Sometimes it will work and sometimes it doesn't, but it's always good therapy.
Q. What about your history? Tell us a little about that.
A: So far as my "history" is concerned: I got my first guitar when I was 8 years old. I didn't really do much with it till I turned 14 and I joined a band in high school. I was actually the drummer for the band. We used to practice at the army bases local Music Center in Germany where my father was stationed. I mean, even then I was still writing songs with my guitar. Me and the bassist for the band actually made a lot of good songs that never really even made it to practice. The one thing that I've always known that I was going to do something with music. It didn't really matter to me if I was some famous rock-star doing power slides on stage, or if I was some old hippy bum with a guitar on the street corner, singing songs while strangers randomly throw things in his rusted old coffee can. Right now though, I find myself right where I love, and wherever that place is; the main love is writing songs.
Q. So you were 14 when you joined a band? When did you start performing for live audiances?
A: Well back in those days as a drummer for the band we only played twice for the local teen center. It wasn't until I hit my early 20's, I started going out to open mics and playing my songs to live audiences. The funny thing about that is, the first time I ever got on stage there was some newspaper journalist there writing about the local acts in town at open mics. But hey, I even got a pretty decent review for my first first time on stage. I was nervous but that went away after the first song.
Q. You've done a lot of songs over the past year. How did you get the inspiration for some of them? What are some of your favorites from your more recent work?
A: Yeah.. I've actually put out 3 albums just this year, "The Return of...", "Wheelspin" and now my most recent, "Outlaw Son" - I would have to say there's a lot of different things I draw my inspiration from. On my first album i've put out this year, I wrote "The Battle of Angband" about JRR Tolkien and his work as an author, which also actually has one line that's Khuzdul (Which is Dwarvish) - which is "Baruk Khazud-dum" which means, "The Axes of the dwarves of Erebor is upon you". "Wheelspin" itself was more of a throw-back to my early grunge days - the song was written as a letter to my past, to which is an "answered letter" to one of my earlier songs, "Water into Wine". The opening line to "Water into Wine" is:
"Send a letter to the orphan mans son, tell him I am going to leave, do weary eyes see what never could be and would you still remember me?"
And "Wheelspin" took the more direct approach in how I answer myself, where the opening lines go; "Gonna go crazy, some crazy sh*** lately, conversations to myself, "Do you hate me" -, I Don't know maybe, i'm the same orphan, stuck out on a soar thumb, & yeah i'm a soar son"
The way I approached it was different, though it was all inspired by the same idea. Like I said earlier though, every song I write has a unique approach to them... You just have to find it I guess.
Q: What about your most recent album, "Outlaw Son"?
A: Well it's about me evolving as an artist, collaborating w/ other singers, The album is a lot different in that Red, my girlfriend and i'm getting her into songwriting and singing with me. "
