Band History:
G.A.-God’s Advocate
Darien Hemphill is sixteen years old and was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi but, raised in Dayton, Ohio. As a Trotwood-Madison student he enjoys music (listening and writing), basketball, football, and rapping for Christ. He future goals include attending college, pursuing a degree in business. His musical ambitions are to get the word of God out to those who need it and love it. He is looking forward to putting out his album in the near future.
G.A. grew up in church and was even in the choir at one point in his life, but never really took it serious. At age thirteen he discovered his gift to formulate rhymes while immersing himself into secular music. While doing secular music he never felt the joy and satisfaction that he desired in his life. Then his mother introduced him to “RIDDICK” who befriended G.A. and eventually became his mentor. Riddick explained to G.A. that the gift he had should be used for edifying, glorifying, and ministering for the Lord only. G.A. soon made the decision to not be lukewarm for the Lord and to give God his all. Some people didn’t understand the change in his life, so he caught a little flak from some of his schoolmates and friends. But G.A. made the change not based on what any man has said but his love for Christ, his mother, brother, and his understanding that you cannot serve both God and mammon. Knowing full well that he could be like others in his generation, living a double life, instead G.A. chooses to represent the Lord wholly with pureness of heart.
