Best,

Edward Null
I'm just a guy who has spent the last too many years trying to make a living. My music has been a hobby. I write songs about things that happen to me, or have happened to me, and try to keep things simple.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet means freedom for artists--at least for now!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
probably not, it would depend on how much control I had over my music.
Your influences?
I grew up with the 70's folkies, Dylan, Young, Guthrie, PP&M, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, and the rest. Neil Young is a particular musical hero. A new/old find is Dave Mallett. What a wordsmith!
Favorite spot?
The country, preferably a secluded stream.
Equipment used:
Guild D-25 guitar, Shure, AKG, AT, and Oktava mikes, Kristal and SONAR recording software on a PC.
Anything else...?
Enjoy the music!
A word about the Challenge songs: Kristal Audio Engine is freeware (I registered mine because I'm trying to make a buck) enjoyed by a diverse group of musicians and songwriters. On the user's forum last fall, someone had the idea of writing a song to certain guidelines, like "it has to be in 'E' and have the word dog in it". We would post our songs here on Soundclick, members and friends would judge and vote, and the winner would set the rules for the next one. So far, I have won or placed several times.
