I'm a solo recording artist, long-time songwriter, musician, and audio engineer, trying to use the power of music to raise awareness and inspire others to make a positive difference, with their life and through their Art.
Over the past ten years or so, I have completed and self-released five solo albums, and am working on another one.
My style is mostly Classic Protest Folk-Rock. I tend to address what I consider to be the larger themes of our existence, rather than writing from a first-person or fictional perspective, or writing about partying, fast cars, girls, etc. (of course, there is a place for those things, but there are plenty of songs like that already, yes?)
Although I have worked with many "big names" and Grammy winners as a live-sound engineer, I write, play, and record all my original music by myself, for better or worse. Thanks for listening.

Why this name?
It's just my name. "Billeaud" is pronounced " B i y o ".
Do you play live?
I have played in many bands over the years, some of them mine, with varying degrees of success. My main performance instrument is the Drums. After playing literally thousands of gigs, these days I prefer to write and record in my studio.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is obviously a wonderful thing in many ways, especially for the "common man", independent Artists, and those outside the boundaries of current commercial tastes.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, because for me, the message is the main thing, and more exposure would probably be the result. Also, I support many Animal-rights type charities, so any additional income would be put to good use.
Your influences?
The usual suspects: Dylan, Lennon, Neil Young, Jackson Brown, Phil Ochs, Joni, Pink Floyd, Cat Stevens, The Beatles, Steve Earle, and others who use their music to try and effect a positive change in the world.
Favorite spot?
Earth. There's nothing like it.
Equipment used:
Apple, Logic, Metric Halo, Universal Audio, Drawmer, SPL, Mohave Audio, Rode, Audio Technica, Sennheiser; Ludwig,

Anything else...?
I truly believe we as Artists have a responsibility to use our talents to try to improve the situation for all living beings on this planet, not just for mere entertainment.
