Not much uploading for the moment. I'm currently building some keyboard skills -- adding new tools. As the snow starts to clear up, I'll get out and do some jamming and put together some more tracks.
My musical background is self taught. Started with Baroque. I can read music, but after a couple of years realized that I'd never sight read well enough to enjoy consort playing.
Switched to Irish folk. Got pretty good at it -- nothing like a good Irish session -- but the Riverdance thing kind of worked that into the ground. Moved on to blues harp; enjoyed that but wanted more flexibility.
I settled on windsynth which gave me all the cool synth options with a sax woodwind style controller. Plus, it weirds out old blues guys in bars.
I was recently playing with The Jumblies at the usual Boston bars. They've culled out the synth sounds, so I'm back on my own for a while.
I study Jazz off and on. Ultimately Jazz is everything.
I like playing live. My primary instrument the Yamaha WX-5 wind controller with the VL70m synth.
Noodles. I like to noodle around with music. I put together electronica like pasting macaroni to a box.
Beyond that, I am exceptionally thankful for artists like Tomita and Wendy Carlos who pioneered the sounds I loved as a young adult; Enya and Loreena McKennitt for the spirit they create in their music; and to Davy Spillane for the emotions he creates with an Irish air.
