D-Shaw is a fresh breath to all who say RnB is dying or dead. His debut album titled "Finally" is coming soon. He is not playing around, he is making a statement that RnB lives. He can do it all from the club joint, rolling joint, love joint, deep joint, to the bedroom joint. The album is appropriately titled "Finally"
Why this name?
D-Shaw is his name. He did not have to come up with a stage name, he retains the name given to him as an teenager in the streets.
Do you play live?
Will be performing live somewhere in Dallas, and North Louisiana very soon.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives independent artist who will not bend over a outlet to have their music heard, so it does change the game. Sometimes it is very hard for an independent artist break through in radio, because of politics and the nature of the game, so the internet is a very good tool to test and get responses, and even sell.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
A contract is a mutual agreement between parties if one could be reached yes.
Band History:
D-Shaw was a member of a talented singing group, since a freshman in high school. At the age of 17 they had their first contract, and went from a small town in Louisiana, all the way to L..A. recording their first single in Paromont Studios and performing all around L.A. in the summers of 1996 and 97. Things did not work out contractually, so D-Shaw and his group members went back to their hometown in rual Louisiana, but D-Shaw was determained to make something happen. In 1999, he released a compilation album titled "The Genisis" although selling a few albums out of the truck, he fell short of any radio play. Feeling he had to do more, he moved to a larger place (Dallas/Ft. Worth) in 2000. He vowed he would not give up, so he worked endlessly on his craft and would not share his work with the world until he was ready, and now it's his time. He is ready to make a stand with his debut solo album titled "Finally". He has developed into a wonderful singer, song writer, producer, composer, and of course, a strong businessman throughout the last 8 years. A change is coming!!!! RnB lives because blood still pumps through D-Shaw's veins.
