Dressed Up Naked is a Rock band based in Monroe, Louisiana. Sporting an eclectic blend of College Rock, Originals, Eighties Dance Tunes, and Classic Rock and Roll, the band has been entertaining crowds in various venues throughout the state. Dressed Up Naked was born in June 2005. John Stevens and Richie Biggers, who’d jammed together in local favorites such as Truckstop Gravy and Clovis Pilgreen, gave Brad Borden a call and asked if he’d be interested in the possibility of forming a band. Recently back from a two year hiatus in Houston, Brad eagerly accepted the offer. After a few acoustic jam sessions at Richie’s place, the guys knew they had a good thing going; however, the group lacked a drummer. The guys put the word out that they were searching for a drummer. Brady Ragland, manager of Sixth Street Bar in Monroe, called John with a potential candidate. Enter Gabe Landry. Gabe had been playing with another local favorite James Reneau. James had recently relocated to Shreveport, and Brady indicated that with the move, Gabe might be interested sitting in with someone else. A phone call was made, and an audition was arranged. Incredibly, the guys had previously only met Gabe in passing, so no one really knew what to expect. But after pounding out a few old standards, the band felt like they had the right man for the job and the circle was completed. Wasting no time, the band lined up a show within two weeks. Many rehearsals and several songs later, the band made their debut as The Hollows on August 19, 2005 at Sixth Street Bar in Monroe, LA. Shortly thereafter, the band decided to change its name to Dressed Up Naked. Currently, the band is playing shows around the region and expanding its repertoire of originals and cover tunes. The band is also in the midst of recording several songs for a CD release, including the single Katie Couric, which has enjoyed airtime on KXRR Rock 106.
