Why this name?
My name is more than likely one of its kind you'll ever see. Originated in my living room writing poetry at 7 yrs old, instead of playing Duck Hunt I listened to my pops slamming Herbie Hancock "Watermelon Man", Four Tops, and War.
Do you play live?
I'm the sound engineer/DJ for the Atlantic 10 at D-1 college basketball games for over 3 years. All played live on National Television.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Absolutely. The internet makes generational (hardware) artists whom play live or in the studio alter their marketable repertoire. Many artist don't have time sitting at a computer attempting to promote their music so most of their talent is heard few and far between.
On the other hand, some artist do have time to sit at the computer and promote their material, yet to still be limited due to computer hackers who cheat the system with illegal "webhitting" software programs.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal is right.
Band History:
Sound Barrier Productions officially formulated early 2007. We've been making tracks for top industry artist for years. So if you know what ghostwriter is we are ghostbeat makers coming out of the closet, scaring you with a banger:) Boo! Seriously, we are slowly establishing our credibility with the public finally and are looking for talent that can contribute to this silent movement. If interested as an Artist, Producer, or both please contact: Diapolis@soundbarrierpro.net
Your influences?
James "Jay Dilla" Yancey, Madlib, Justin Blaze, RZA, 9th wonder and Black Milk, Khrysis, are my major influences.
I'm more into a soul/funk, jazzy type beats. My favorite style of beatmaking is sampling from those particular genre's. So if you like albums like Slum Village's Fantastic Vol. 2, Anything J. Dilla, Anything Black Milk, then you'll like my material.

Anything else...?
The bottom line is you have to have talent to make good music regardless what equipment you have. I know producers with million dollar studios but lack the talent to pump out quality beats.
I'm staying on my grind and will continue to work hard in the studio. The evolution of my beat making ability will blossom due to my diligence.
I'm willing to study all kinds of music too so send me feedback positive or negative so that I can make adjustments. Becuase in my mind, a beat is never complete.
Be easy.
