Dissociate is the solo electronic project of Jonathan Ford, a Minneapolis based sound designer/artist.... former guitarist of dies irae !us, an obscure darkpop group which disbanded in 1999 after playing the 8. Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, DE. Dissociate was conceived in the late spring of 2001 after graduation from the University of Minnesota... Although he had written music and sound effects for various performance art pieces, a need to return to live performance was acute. Jonathan was at a club one rainy evening when he was asked by dj Noise to perform at an upcoming convention. Not having any songs or a band name, Jonathan promptly answered YES. The following day, Dissociate was born. Having been co-host of The Descent on Radio K since 1997, jonathan had been exposed to a vast array of electronic and industrial stylings. Dissociate was to be a culmination of those influences filtered through a personal sense of musicality. Jonathan also currently plays guitar for Stellar Vector.
