Denny Mishler is the Guitarist in the up-and-coming band, "A Penny for Jane." This page is for Denny's solo instrumental music....enjoy!

Denny Mishler is a very accomplished musician from Las Vegas, NV. Featured in the April issue of Guitar Player Magazine, Mishler boasts more than years of live performing, studio session work and an education in Theory and Technique.

At a mere 18 years old, his first solo album and subsequent single of the same title, Last Rain (crediting Mishler as the producer and performer of every instrument) sky-rocketed to #3 on the Instrumental Rock Charts at MP3.com.

In 2003, after spending some time in New York recording with the now defunct band, Badwater, Denny shared the stage with 80's metal giants, Quiet Riot, in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 people. The same year, he won the award for Northern Nevada's 'Best Guitarist' at the 2003 Stockmen's Battle of the bands in Elko, NV with his longtime friends and band at the time, Damn Skippy.

Denny recently joined the up-and-coming band band from Las Vegas, A Penny for Jane. The music of A Penny for Jane has appeared on the WB, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Lifetime on shows like Smallville, The OC, Threat Matrix, and America's Top Model. AMV is currently in the studio with Grammy nominated producer Tommy Marolda.

Keep your eyes open in the near future for much to come from this rising star!

"On his current demo, Mishler plays a variety of styles—showing influences such as Joe Satriani and Dimebag Darrell—and offers a burning unaccompanied solo. Armed with impressive speed-picking and arpeggio skills, Mishler tempers his over-the-top chops with well-crafted melodies and interesting compositions." - Guitar Player Magazine

Do you play live?
I've been playing live since I was very very young. I started my first band, Crude with my good buddy, John Gray, when we were in 7th grade. We played a few talent shows and a couple of dances...what a riot! I have many videos of all these performances, and I cherish them. I am fortunate enough to have played some of the most amazing venues for some really great people all across the country. There is nothing like giving a little piece of you to everyone in the room. That connection is what drives me to do what I do.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has and will continue to change it drastically. The Big 4 (Sony BMG, EMI, Universal and Warner) are losing their tight grip on the industry. Thankful, artists have more access to promotion and marketing. A hard working band can do very well without a label, and hopefully it will keep rolling in this direction. It's about time artists start seeing the fruits of their labor, rather than a tiny percentage.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Unfortunately, to gain a certain level of success is nearly impossible without the support of a big label distribution and market saturation. Hopefully this control will dwindle as time goes on. For now, you must play the game and play it smart. Get a great lawyer. Wear a helmet.
Your influences?
So many..ready? take a deep breath. lol...
Jan Akkerman, Imogene Heap, The Toms, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, John Mayer, Steve Vai, Jem, Dream Theater, Trapt, Blink 182, Jewel, The Doobie Brothers, Pantera, Southern Pacific, Eric Johnson, SRV, Zakk Wylde, Santana, Outkast, Nelly Furtado, The Killers, Richard Cheese, Guns &; Roses, System of a Down, Sublime, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Metallica, Lamb of God, Liquid Tension Experiment, Frank Zappa, Van Halen, Marylin Manson, Godsmack, Michelle Branch, ect, ect, ect......I could go on for days! Any classic rock, bluegrass, blues, rock, metal, country....(basically, if its music, I love it!)
Favorite spot?
So many worth mentioning. I love Las Vegas, LA, New York. Ely NV is where I grew up and my family lives. I can't wait to tour and see Europe, Australia, Japan and South America.
