Thank you for your interest! If you're looking for truly original music than what you have heard, you're at the right place.

There are 4 completed albums and one in the works that should be finished by mid 2005 if all goes as planned.

A couple songs from each collection are posted here to give a taste of what you'll hear on them. If interested, you may email me anytime and request the project.

Feel free to post a message on our message board about what you think of the music whether you liked it or hated it. If it isnt your style, please say so. It only fair to a songwriter/musician to know the truth about their music.

Why this name?
David Mattocks is just a guy that lives his life with his wife, two children on the farm in the country lands of Central Florida.
Do you play live?
I record at home and play covers for fun sometimes with friends.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet certainly helps unknowns get heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I must have my freedom with the final say, but am up for any and all suggestions.
Band History:
My Songwriting

I write about what I know, have experienced, have an opinion on or what's entertaining to me. Sometimes I play drums first and do the rest of tracks around it. Sometimes I do guitar first, sometimes I write the words first. It just depends on the mood I'm in and how I'm inspired. I'm not where I want to be as a songwriter yet, but I believe I'm on the right track. The best advise I can give to new songwriters (from my personal experiences and from what I have learned from others) is to create a marriage between the lyrics and the instrument you use when creating a song. If its easy to remember when you're writing it, and it flows naturally, then it will probably be a catchy song that the music industry and any fans will like. Take your time and do it to please you. You're your own worst critic. After you make a song, let the song rest a day and hear what it sounds like with fresh ears. You'll probably hear more ideas or parts that need upgrading/ adjusting, etc.

I believe also that you should do what makes you feel good. My style has changed since I learned a few things and lost a certain uniqueness once I began to apply what I learned. It has also grown because of learning new tricks, techniques and styles. So don't allow new ideas to ruin your old ones if they have potential. But remember what you did in the past and apply it to the new ideas you have.

I believe that real musicians are a spiritual, philosophical, opinionated and a very vocal group of people, that true musicians are placed on earth by God on purpose to give the world a gift. Music is a relief and an escape for many people. I actually don't know anyone who doesn't like some type of music. Music can make people feel as though they can identify with others in this sometimes mean and cruel world. So, musicians are responsible for other people in a sense (if you want to take it that serious). Songwriters and musicians should be aware of this and understand that what they write can truly affect others in a way that nothing else can. Music is a powerful force and should be respected as such. It is recognized by doctors everywhere to have a therapeutic ability. Do your best at all times and be responsible.
Your influences?
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Old dirty-gnarly-gritty-lowdown-nasty (early) blues, Motown, Weezer, Dishwalla, Led Zepplin, Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, SRV, Eagles, G&R, Allman Bros, DP ... any music that is timeless, funky, has great lyrics and/or has a great beat. There's so many, i cant list em all.
Favorite spot?
In the country plains of Central Florida. Not much of a city person. there's more for me to do in the country. In the city I would say an outdoor concert somewhere on a cool dry day near a river, or the beach. Maybe the Bandshell if they did more stuff of interest there.
