Why this name?
It's just a silly play on my name (Bob) and the musical outfit called a combo. It kind of loses something when you explain it though!
It is also a play on the phrase Bob.com

Do you play live?
Played in just about every pub in Adelaide in the 80's & 90's. Best gigs were The Austral and The Cathedral Hotels and the B&S balls in the outback.
I now play bass in an Eagles cover band called the Bald Eagles.....

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has already. Home entertainment will become more about what you want, when you want it. Hook up, download, watch, listen...It will all become one and the same...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Does it have to be a "major" label??
Band History:
Bands I have been in are "Zero Hour" (not the US metal band, we had the name first in 1982)(1982-1985), Die Laughing (1986-1988), Joe Fish & the Chips (1989-1995), Ringo's Revenge (1992-1993), Lovage (1994-1995). I have also played double bass in orchestras, mostly pit orchestras for musicals (1992 to 1999). All in Adelaide, South Australia.
I made many home 4 track recordings in the 80's both solo and with various friends and bands and now record on PC using the free DAW Kristal Audio Engine.
My current live project is with an Eagles cover band called The Bald Eagles!

Your influences?
My influences are definitely the rock, pop and vocal groups of the 60's.
I grew up in the 70's singing along to the Beatles, Beach Boys, Bacharach, Aussie bands like the Skyhooks, The Sports, Sherbet and of course Countdown.
Then I began playing my bass along to J.P.Jones and Led Zep, John Wetton in King Crimson and Roger Waters and Pink Floyd, but I love the great bass players of the 70's and 80's like Stanley Clarke, Jaco, Jeff Berlin, Percy Jones.
I have a real soft spot for Brian Wilson's music both with & without the Beach Boys.
