Collector's Edition is group that holds no bars. This duo brings an eclectic and fresh style of music that will have people of all kinds grooving. They are original in their music and appearance that seperates them apart from other performers. They are a group that you definitely need to check out.
Why this name?
The reason we chose the name Collector's Edition is really came from our music. We felt like our music is unique and rare to a lot of people that are not doing we're doing. So, it we felt like it is timeless, hence Collector's Edition.
Do you play live?
Of course we play live. We love to perform live because we love to connect with the audience and get them into our performance. When we get on stage, people don't really know what to expect. Then we start performing, the reaction from them is great because we give a show. We combine rapping, singing, and dancing. We want to bring showmanship back to the stage.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe that it has tremdously because nobody buys albums anymore. Since nobody buys albums anymore, the level of music has declined. People don't put out classic records anymore. We're talking about classic LPs that can stand the test of time and can still be played 10 to 100 years from now, especially in hip/hop. Now it all about the ringtones or mp3s or itunes charts for that one record. Usually its the one-hit wonders who top those charts. We want to bring classic LPs back, when people used to listen to the whole album and each song flowed together and people could related to the songs.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We woud definitely love to be sign to a major recording label. We feel there are certain labels that would probably work with our style. Labels like Atlantic Records, Geffen Records, Interscope Records, A & M Records just to name some. The only thing we would want from the label is really creative control over our music. That would be the biggest thing we would want.
