Catherine of the Woods
NEWS   Well, I told ya you'd be hearing some fake instruments, and I didn't lie. If I could find help, and time from family engagemants, I could put this stuff together for really real. In the meantime I'll just keep layin' it down.

Hey gang, well i just got tired of waiting for the right band, so i decided to do it myself. All this stuff was recorded over the course of about four years at the Enginehouse in one of the two damp basements it was located in. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the point across. Graham Payne lends his musical skills (where indicated), turns knobs and generally helps the project move along (it is still moving). Dave Gaziel and Perry Osborn threw their two cents in there as well. The sound pretty much varies from tune to tune, because that's the way it goes when you change microphone positions and knob settings every time you record something new. Remember, sometimes overdubs are your friends, especially when you have NO PATIENCE.
Why this name?
It's a line in my favorite Prong tune. (Broken Peace)
Do you play live?
Catherine would like nothing more than to come out of the basement, but she needs help.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
That's pretty obvious.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm just taking it one day at a time. If I was doing this to get signed, I'd be forced to wear a hockey helmet to protect my head.
Band History:
I've been playing guitar and drums since I was nine. I have numerous instruments, and I want more. If it can be played, I can either play it, or learn how to fake it real good given enough time.
Your influences?
You asked for it, you got it. In alphabetical order: Bad Brains, Big Country, Dire Straits, fIREHOSE, King Crimson, King's X, The Minutemen, Motorhead, Pierre Moerlen's Gong, The Police, The Process, Rush, Tortoise, Shellac, VoiVod.
Favorite spot?
I'm not at liberty to discuss those matters.
Equipment used:
Though I have been known to triffle with the Fruity Loops program a time or two, I prefer to use my hands and feet. They use Slingerland drums, Aquarian heads (integral), CP percussion, a Danelectro 6/12, a Westone Spectrum ST, Digitech effects, a Yamaha 5-string, a Fender 4-string, Musser vibes, a Casio WK-1200, and Paiste, Zildjian and Sabian cymbals.
Recording devices: Shure, AKG, Marshall and CAD mics, Layla echo, a Soundcraft 10 channel mixer, a Mixpac 6+1 mixer, and n-track recording program.
Anything else...?
Thanks to all the great musicians i've played with: Dave Gaziel, Vince Maldonado, Graham Payne, Perry Osborn, et al.

F*** you Earl.
