MONEY TO BURN

MONEY TO BURN, CALAHAN'S FIRST SINGLE FROM "ON THE ROCKS", IS A HARD HITTING ROCK TUNE ABOUT CHICKS IN LA THAT ONLY SCREW FOR MONEY, AND WE'RE NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT HOOKERS!
"If Guns 'n' Roses fucked AC/DC and had a kid who banged Oasis, Calahan would be the love child." Thats what one prominant LA club owner had to say about award winning rock band Calahan, and its hard to argue when you consider the major accomplishments the band has achieved since forming in late 2003. Calahan is one of the busiest and most respected rock bands to come out of Los Angeles in the last 5 years, and here's why: The band has recorded over 30 songs, all of which have been released independently. In 2004, Calahan recorded "Rock N Roll Helmet," which was produced by Leigh Gorman of Bow Wow Wow fame. The EP also features legendary guitarist Billy Duffy of The Cult pulling off some axe duties on the single Tonya. In 2005 Calahan recorded their 3rd full length album, "On The Rocks." The album features Guns 'n' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed on most of the tunes, and is the most critically and commercially successful album the band has released to date. Hot off the press is Calahan's newest EP "Superstar", with some re-recorded versions of a few fan favorites along with a brand new track "Superstar", one of the band's finest moments on record so far. On top of that recording, Calahan also managed to do some live room recordings at the legendary Capitol Records studios, though there's no word yet on if/when they are to be released. Prior to these recordings the band also released an EP, aptly titled "Calahan," followed by a blistering album titled "Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof." Finally, Calahan is featured on a CD compilation called "LA Rockers For Live", which was put together to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. If you drive after having a stiff one, you just might end up that way. E-mail info @ calahanrocks.com for info on how to get your hands on this compilation! Despite being dedicated studio rats, Calahan are also the quintessential road dogs, touring all over the California coastline and in some parts of the east coast, including a headlining slot at New York's annual NikStock festival in 2005/2006. Calahan is well known for selling out venues and putting on great live shows. Some note-worthy clubs to have hosted the band range from San Francisco's Slims and The Great American Music Hall, to Hollywood's Viper Room, House of Blues, Roxy Theater, Whiskey A Go Go, and Key Club. The band is also no stranger to more cozy rooms, having set up residencies at the world famous Kibitz Room, Cat Club, and Lava Lounge. Calahan is not camera shy either - The band has filmed full length music videos for the tracks "Money To Burn" and "Unbreakable," off of their new album. Last year, a song from "Rock N Roll Helmet" was featured on an episode of Showtime's hit series "Weeds," while two other tracks were chosen for the indie film, "Alligator Run." Calahan's most recent run in with TV was on The CW network's show "Girlfriends". The band plays live on the episode "Hot For Preacher", and the episode can be seen in it's entirety at www.cwtv.com. Following "Girlfriends," Calahan's classic track "Pouring on the Gasoline" was recently used on ABC's hit drama "Grey's Anatomy." Go to abc.com for details. While mainstream radio airplay still eludes Calahan, there are many stations that regularly spin the band (Live 105, WB 15/KXVO, Indie 103.1), as well as internet stations like BNRX Radio, Club Fiend Radio, The Source, Electric Effect Radio and many more. Contact your favorite station and request Calahan! When you hear the band live or on record, it's easy to see why they are regarded as one of LA's finest rock band's in the last decade.
Band/artist history
Calahan's been around for about 4 years. Singer Thom Barg and Guitarist Brannon Lee started the band in San Francisco, began tearing up the scene, and eventually made the move to Los Angeles where they met Bassist Kyler Clark, and Drummer Serge and joined to form the current line up of Calahan. With 4 full albums under they're belt, Calahan is poised to make a serious impact on the Rock world.
