'Butterfly Island' is the brain-child of writer musician Paul Lane. It is a collection of songs that together make up a musical story...
Why this name?
'Butterfly Island' is all about reaching one's dreams after a life-long struggle and sheer perseverence against all the odds. The Butterfly itself is a very beautiful creature that has a very short life-span after having been a caterpillar that spend all it's time preparing itself for those last few and final days of freedom and beauty as a butterfly. It would then fly away to reproduce and then die. This cycle goes on from generation to generation...
Do you play live?
Yes. we do play 'live'. I love it and want to do much more! We always have a great time when we get on stage!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows many more artists to get their music out to the world at large.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I suppose I would, but I would also continue to promote my music at a 'grass roots' level over the Internet...
