Why this name?
Heard a radio commercial and they said ...blah blah blah "Workin Stiffs" blah blah blah.
Found some punk band out of the states using the same name but they didn't look to active and I had no visions of grandure so the band name "Worin Stiffs' kinda stuck with me through several personel changes :o)

Do you play live?
I volunteer at and host a weekly Friday morning 7-9am radio program on CHLY 101.7 FM here in Nanaimo called "Songwriters Circle" (www.chly.ca) promoting local original talent and traveling artists.
I have hosted a monthly "In The Round" writers nights, played in several different band and duo configurations and still perform occassionally for charitable events. I keep pretty busy with the local music scene, holding down a 9to5 and bein a dad to my teenage daughter.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Songwriters, performers and music makers of all sorts have access to millions of fans. It has made the business side of the music industry much more available to the everyday band.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Music has to fill your soul
...it won't your wallet.
Sure I would, ...show me the money!
ha ha ha

Your influences?
Big fan of Brooks n Dunn, Toby Kieth, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Eagles, etc.
John Prine was a huge early influence as well as Pure Prairie League but so was Zepplin & Sabbath. Nowadays my biggest influence is our songwriting community here on Vancouver Island and the songwriting communities I frequent on the internet.
