description
Christian Cowboy Balladeers cross on the Lewiston, ID Hill.
I am a 35+ year veteran of the honky tonks and clubs. I recently joined the Academy of Western Artists & The Western Music Association. I still perform in clubs and honky tonks, but I like what these two orgenizations are doing.
I now perform in Cowboy Gatherings and award shows when time permits. This is just a way of getting my music and the lyrics of these great cowboy poets out to the world to enjoy.
I now have my own recording studio to play with. I have had a project studio for the last 20 years and I just updated to a 24 track digital studio.
Why this name?
My full name is Bonifacio Dominguez. This is too hard for some people to pronounce so "Bodie" is a name that someone came up with while I was in Vietnam. It seems to be a name everyone can handle.
Do you play live?
I love all the venues that I play(honky tonks, clubs, BBQs parties). I now help host two radio shows on KRLC 1350AM Lewiston, Idaho, in the last few years I was asked to join the The Western Music Association. I love the Cowboy Gatherings and the Award shows. I am currently president of the Northwest Chapter of the WMA. I am also involved with the Polouse Cowboy poets and I am VP of that orgenization. I am also president of the Christian Cowboy Balladeers.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe if you look back on how they fought radio when it was first introduced and how they fough to keep the music from being played FREE on the air, there is some of the same mind set.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes it would be beneficial to have the resources and know how to be able to expand on my music.
Band History:
I have a 35+ years of playing in just about every venue that you can imagine.

I am now involved in promoting Cowboy Gatherings and Festivals drop me a line if you or your community is interested in haveing a cowboy gathering.
Your influences?
I was 14 when I got my first guitar. Bob Dylan was an early study so was Berl Ives, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Luther Perkins, Chet Atkins, George Jones, Don Gibson, Ernest Tubb. I love rock-a-billy guitar & Chuck Berry riffs playing as well as some of the classical runs.My first love was and still is country & western music.
Favorite spot?
I was just invited by USMC to help honor the war heroes of WWII at Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands in November of 2003. This is a tropical paradize, I loved it. On the way back we spent a week in Honolulu and I fell in love with the people and that place also.
Equipment used:
I perform acoustically when I am able. I love the raw sound with no other musicians or sound to distract from the artists own presentation. I also love the electronica of playing full out in a honky tonk with my toys to a dance crowd. I use harmonizers, minidisks, I play my parts live (vocals, guitar, harmonica). I also perform with a five piece band when the money is there.
Anything else...?
