Why this name?
Bob Couchenour is my name!
Do you play live?
Until Dec 2005 Played Worship Services every week - Not exactly your usual "cookie cutter" stuff though. Also conferences and support guest musicians. Do some acoustic solo work, open mics and such. I hosted Regular Friday night Jam session open to musicians wanting to expand their own musical horizons. I currently play in a Bluegrass Jam session on friday nights at the Arrow Horse in Gettsburg PA.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes music, everybodies music, much more accessable to the public. Essentailly it levels the playing field in it's ability to distribute music. Promoting and marketing, advertising are still controlled by the boys with the big bucks, but as an independant artist is willing to apply themselves and do the work (sit your self down and look for opportunities to promote yourself), your music can be put in public showcases and a career developed. As an independant artist it is a lot of work, but what would you rather do, giveup, roll over and play dead because you haven't been "discovered", or apply yourself to doing what you love. The Internet gives indpendant artists a real shot at that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal was right. But as I develope my own career independantly and obtain a certain amount of "success" or recognition on my own, I have clout, leverage to bargain with. If the deal isn't sweet, I'll do it myself. I've stopped believing in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus.
Band History:
see "Introduction to your band"
Your influences?
I first remember fifties doo-Wap, then the Beatles, Beach Boys and Byrds, Dylan, Jefferson Airplane. The Doors, Hendrix, Cream and Clapton. CCN&Y. The Grateful Dead, Roy Buchannan, Lynyrd Skynyrd

The biggest influences are probably the Grateful Dead, specifically Garcia, Roy Buchannan from the D.C. area, Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler.
Favorite spot?
Town Square - Gettysburg ... did some busking there this year ... I'm sure I'll dio more in the future ...
