NEWS   " Nu Jazz is to (traditional) Jazz what punk or grunge was to Rock. [...] The songs are the focus, not the individual prowess of the musicians. Nu Jazz instrumentation ranges from the traditional to the experimental, the melodies are fresh, and the rhythms new and alive. It makes Jazz fun again. " -- Tony Brewer, at All About Jazz

Guitarist, Musician, Composer of guitar based instrumental music.
Musical styles; blend of jazz, rock, and electronica

As a long time engineer, and producer, I enjoy creating music with some structure and design, sorta where six strings meet art.
Why this name?
It's a stage name.
Do you play live?
For many years, toured the west coast of California playing live at various venues, also worked in local recording studios.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Levels the playing field, even though my royalty checks have been getting smaller since it's inception!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not necessary for a successful career nowadays.
Band History:
After performing with touring bands for many years, now a solo artist and composer. As a session musician, recorded on albums captured at Santa Barbara Sound and Hyde Street Studios (Satriani's haunt in San Francisco). Favorite past performances and studio work include sessions with Etta James (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), Jimmy Carl Black (Mothers of Invention/Frank Zappa), and Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds).
