Ben Trexel is a producer, guitarist, and songwriter based in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition to recording and mixing national acts such as Train, Better Than Ezra, Duncan Sheik, Monte Montgomery, and Three Days Grace, Trexel has helped develop local Birmingham talent with eyes on the national stage. These artists include Michael Warren, T-Roc, Dorean Lives, D. Watts, Lake Trechsel, Joshua Lee, and Kristen Jaudon. Trexel also creates unique instrumental music tracks in several genres for sale or license. More than just "beats," these tracks are unique, melodic, and modern and will help aspiring singers and rappers cut through the masses of mediocre music and establish themselves on the cutting edge of emerging talent.
In addition to co-writing with and producing aspiring recording artists, Trexel has also released three albums of instrumental rock and acoustic music. They are Wearing a Groove (1997), Under the Radar (2000), and Deep in the Mix (2004). Several tracks from these albums have been featured in film and television. These albums can be purchased at www.cdbaby.com/all/bentrexel
2008 marks an exciting time as Retrospect Records has just re-released Trexel's progressive hard rock tour-de-force "BALANCE OF POWER," originally released in 1992. For more information, visit www.retrospectrecords.com
