Solo, environmental, spacey, ambient, dreamy, with some good beats and a little funkiness thrown in for good measure. Sometimes described as chaotic and manic. Always created out of love for form and ambience. You might like it, you might not. But you're always welcome to delve under the surface and see.
Why this name?
It comes from the golden ratio and the first rule of design. And the Fibonacci series of numbers, which is universal. Look it up and you'll see. Its influence reaches far beyond music.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It changes it for the better. It levels the playing field and lets artists truly explore their own creativity. It's the way it should have been from the start.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Absolutely. Who wouldn't???
Your influences?
Good grief, what ISN'T an influence. Influences include bands like Aphex Twin, The Orb, Orbital, William Orbit (see a trend here?), Autechre, Dead Can Dance, Chopin, Beethoven, Clapton, Fripp, Eno, Steve Roach, Tangerine Dream, and so many others. All artists too... from Jackson Pollock to Joseph Vermeer, etc. etc. Art is fluid and runs through all streams of methods and design.
Favorite spot?
Montreal, Canada. Toronto, Canada. Newport, Rhode Island, Boston, Massachusetts. Miami, Florida. Always wanted to visit Vancouver and New Orleans too.
Equipment used:
mainly Reason 4.0 and a Novation ReMote 25SL controller. But many software programs and anything I can get my hands on.
Anything else...?
I always welcome feedback, and constructive criticism. And I appreciate all those souls who took the time to listen. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone for that!
