I'm a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, visual artist, and poet who operates a small independent label and recording studio near Bourbon, Indiana. I'm always on the lookout for new folks to make some noise with. Currently, I'm hoping to put together or join a songwriting/recording/performing group comprised of people who reside within a comfortable driving distance. I'm also interested in recording projects, especially those involving improvisation. If you live in or near Bourbon (and chances are, if you've ever heard of "Bourbon, IN", you probably reside nearby), please contact me at zed_salt@hotmail.com
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I enjoy performing, but I've done enough of it that it feels like "work". I'm more than willing to work for free for a good cause, but I prefer not to perform professionally until/unless I have a product to promote that it is ready for on-site sales.
Your musical influences
I like playing around with musical ethnicities ("World Music") in what's been described as a Prog Rock context. The band I get compared to most often is Pink Floyd. I also LOVE Funk. Because I do so much of my songwriting on acoustic guitar, I often get the "Eclectic Folk" tag.
What equipment do you use?
Guitars (six and twelve string acoustics, six string electric, fretless bass, lap steel, Nashville strung, etc.), keyboards (organ and synths), winds (harmonica, melodica, melodica basso, arghul, tinwhistle, pennywhistle, didj), percussion (RotoToms, tongue drum, talking drum, tambourine, udu drum, found objects), tenor banjo, banjolele, Pol-Ka-Lay-Lee, dulimer, trombone, recording equipment (4 trk. analog, eight trk. digital), effects (rackmount digital and a mix of new & vintage stompboxes), mics, all kinds of things that normally aren't consider musical instruments but make nifty noises...I'm probably neglecting to mention something, but I'll leave it at that.
