March to the Highlands March to the Highlands

I felt writing an epic song, so this is what happened. I used an acoustic guitar to record all of the guitar parts.

Acoustic Guitar

My band is just me, John Guin, a freshman at Sewanee: The University of the South. I have been playing the guitar for four years, though I just started recording. To record I use two things: my acoustic guitar and my macbook. The sound quality kind of sucks, but it's what I have. I like writing mellow music, whether it's music that's fun to chill to at the beach, or more reflective music. However, my favorite band is Led Zeppelin and I do enjoy a good straight ahead blues rock jam.
Your musical influences
Well, the generic answer is everything. More specifically, I listen mainly to classic rock, such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. However, the stuff I write is more chill and mellow, like Iron and Wine or Phish.
What equipment do you use?
So far, I have only recorded with my acoustic guitar, which is a Martin 000-15S (nice guitar). I also use my dad's acoustic guitar which is made my some luthier dude. My electric is an Epiphone Studio Les Paul through a Mesa/Boogie F-50 amp. Hopefully I'll record some stuff with it soon.
