About the song
This music was composed by John David Thomas for Edmonds United Methodist Church in a suburb of Seattle, Washington in 1989-1990, with the motivation being that a public orchestral performance of this work would happen once John finished the orchestration and the composing. The full title is: Love Flowers: Reflections and Meditations on Beauty and Truth, and the title is self-explanatory. When John David Thomas and his orchestral friends performed this work at the EUMC church in Edmonds, Washington in 1990, the audience sat stunned, and many of the older church people sat with their "jaws dropped open" at the conclusion of this work...in the original version of 1989-1990, the melody is played by a bassoon, with piano accompaniement, for part 1...part 2 which follows involves the entire orchestra!
