Bobby Ray Vig is a bassist/composer from Jacksonville, FL - currently active in 3 or 4 different bands of various genres: Laurence Walden & The Jazz Connection (jazz), B.P. Express (classic rock & blues), River City Pilgrims (bluegrass) and Legacy (lounge/jazz/standards).
Growing up in Vero Beach, FL, started musical journey on trumpet, graduated to guitar and finally bass. Early bands included OakenDagger and OASIS (*NOT* the British band of the same name - this "OASIS" was a Vero Beach "fusion" band from way back in 1981). Settled in Jacksonville in 1995 where, after a period of several years as a photographer re-discovered music roots and have worked with various local-outfits including Cheshire Cats, Jim Mack Big Band (including appearances at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival) and Walden's Jazz Connection.
