Swing Sway Sh-Boom Blues
while not written with mass appeal in mind, i am both humbled and surprised by the interest this song has garnered. and, while i have my eyes set toward the next project... i'd like to say 'thanks' for the kind support that it has received.

About the song
in creating this song, my objective was to:
come up with something mellower than my last two outings.
to resist the temptation to overplay, and create something that had more of an ensemble "feel" to it.
come up with a loosely structured piece similar to the jazz style of the 60's and 70's that inspired groups such as Traffic and The Doors, amongst many others of that era... but with a slightly modern twist.
and, lastly... i guess, this was truly an exercise in "listening." i approached this project by really listening and reacting to the music being played, instead of kinda playing in "auto-pilot" mode (some may hear that aspect... while others may not).
i also went for a "real-time" playing of the drums, utilizing an improvised jazz feel, instead of the more commonly used 4-beat or 8-beat drum patterns. of which, i am very happy with the results.
when i set out to do this jazz/blues project, i did so knowing that this isn't the most popular of genres. but, that's fine with me because my goal has never been to create... solely for "commercial" appeal.
______
i'd like to "thank" ALL of you who have ventured to give this tune a listen. as i stated previous, i never expected it to find a large audience (which is precisely why i didn't go out of my way to promote it).
so, in that respect alone... this project has already exceeded my wildest expectations.
i'm very appreciative to those who have found, listened to, commented, and voted on this project... including the "anonymous" ones.
