My mom really had to struggle raising the three of us alone. Dad died while I was young. She kind of fell into the opportunity of running/owning a dumpy bar but made it into a successful strip club. The mafia threatened her and tried to kill her on the highway. She recovered, went back to work until it was time to close/sell and move on with her life.
Seriously, she should write a book.
