Never intended to be a 'sad/couple skate' kind of song - All My Mistakes was born entirely from a lyrical idea. Bryan and I were writing, just coming up with ideas, when he stumbled on this lyrical concept: write an entire song in reverse. Probably been done before - chime in if you can give a reference - but unique to us. If you look through the verses, you'll notice that you could reverse each line. Not word-for-word, but phrase-for-phrase. This concept made for a sad song on the front end but changes context a bit when you turn it around:
