This song was borne out of my experience as a duck owner. They are cute and cuddly on the outside but over time I have observed that they can be viciously competitive. They periodically murder each other in a bid for dominance, engage in deafening, communal quacking frenzies, and sometimes I am afraid of what they will do if I stop feeding them. In fact, if they overcame their internal squabbles and took on humanity instead, we could be in a lot of trouble.
