About the song
This is a great song that Paul Simon wrote in the Northeast of England when he was 20. It tells the tale of a travelling musician and speaks to us that life is that much harder when we miss the things we love. The changes of expression and pace this song invite make it particularly soulful. For Simon fans, my rendition borrows its delivery and atmosphere from Paul's MTV Unplugged performance that marked the end of the Born At The Right Time Tour.
