About the song
I came to Mississippi from beautiful northern Arizona for one reason only. To play Blues and live and breathe and one day die in the Land Where the BLUES Began. Just that simple. It's been 5 years now and I am still honored and privileged to be in the Magnolia State. I could never be happy anywhere else.
Lyrics
-- My Sweet Mississippi Home ---
by Little Charlie Johnston - October 2003

Goin down to the river
I'm gonna sit down on the ground
Goin down to the river
I'm gonna sit down on the ground
I'm gonna choose me a seat
Watch that evenin' sun go down

Let the waves of the water
Let em' wash my blues away
Let the waves of the water
Let em' wash my blues away
Seems like no matter what
Trouble comes my way

-chorus-
Well I've rambled in Arizona
In Texas and New mexico you know I've roamed
Well I've rambled in Arizona
In Texas and New mexico you know I've roamed
But I wouldn't trade love or money
For my sweet Mississippi Home

I've broke some hearts
I've spent some time in the can
I've broke some hearts
I've spent some time in the can
Just sittin' and wonderin'
Who the hell I am (chorus x1)

Love this life I live
But I got the blues today
Love this life I live
Little Charlie's got the blues today
Hope tomorrow will be better than today (chorus x2 and end)
