About the song
Ships of Wood
Poem by Bill Wren

Like sea faring vessels
We navigate through the ocean of time
In this incredible world of splendor and beauty
But soon find, not all is as it seems
When the cold wind of adversity blows
And our very foundations are rocked by roaring waves
Yet in some of us there is a compelling passion
To seek truth, understanding and reason
And we are willing to risk all to find it
As in the days of old when men of renown
Searched for new and distant lands
In their ships of wood
Lyrics
Ships Of Wood

Ships of wood sail the open seas
Sheets are full as the cold wind blows

Men of hopes and dreams a new life they seek
Pray to God above their souls He'll keep

Their souls He'll keep
Their souls He'll keep
Time to rest now sleep
Dream of a land so far away
Dream of a place where you can stay

Ships of wood sail the open seas
Sheets are full as the cold wind blows

As the cold wind blows
As the cold wind blows
No one really knows
There is a land so far away
There is a rest where you can stay

Land in sight by the morning light
Land in sight what a great delight

Here is the place where you can stay
Here is the truth it's here today

Ships of wood sail the open seas
