So a friend heard some of my previous work and asked me to produce a 2-and-a-half-minute piece for a video clip. No ordinary clip - this was to be a striking educational video made for a local charity, for nationwide viewing in schools. The theme was unplanned pregnancy - the message that whatever happens, there are choices to be made and they (the charity) are there to help. So striking, interesting, modern and uplifting were the key.

The first draft had a different melody but was still used as the backbone for the story-board - I'd planned the same structure for the video as the director before we'd even spoken! So the footage was shot and laid out to draft 1, before I then took the whole lot back into Cubase and updated the melody (as you now hear it) and added in a subtle heartbeat monitor, as well as a Theremin-type sound in the background whenever the screen-couple's baby appeared on screen.
