The New Folksters are a group of folk singers who combine wonderful harmony with hot instrumentals. Their performances are fun and energetic and include lush ballads, hot bluegrass, sultry blues and rollicking ragtime tunes. Members have been part of the folk singing community since the 60ïs.
We have been playing together as a group for several years. Our rmembers have been performing since the 1960's. Our members are:
- Hal Weiner on guitar, mandolin and vocals, a previous member of the Barbary Coast Singers in the 1960ïs
- Larry Gallagher on guitar and vocals, previously one of the New Christy Minstrels
- John Temples on banjo and guitar, a three time Utah state banjo champion
- Judy Adams, our featured vocalist, who has appeared in many stage performances and is a member of the renown Flotones singing group
- Lynette Kristine has played with symphony orchestras and Broadway musicals and is the hottest bass player west of the Willamette
The group is based in Florence, Oregon and has been featured at The Florence Events Center Habitat for Humanity Benefit Concert, The Grape Leaf, Suislaw Coffee Roasters, The Backstreet Gallery, Ninaïs Restaurant, Craves, The Concerts By The Lake, Elkton Music Festival, The Tumbleweed Folk Festival, The Drift Inn, Humane Society Benefit Concert and NW Folklife.
