I have been involved with music since the age of 4, but I guess that this "band" has a history dating back to the turn of the century. At the time I had started teaching elementary school music classes and thought it would be fun to learn more about the guitar to use with my students. I wrote my first song for one of the first grade classes (After I Blow My Nose), and I've been continuing to play music and write since then.
I play live everyday at work - I'm a music therapist. I love it! I'm starting to play out in the community more at some local open mics.
It's hard to say - I listen to so many genres of music in my line of work that I'm influenced by all of them. My biggest musical influence, however, would be my aunt, who has been playing/singing and working on her own music for many years and is a wonderful inspiration!
Two Ibanez acoustic-electric guitars, a Martin Backpacker, a Squier bass (fender), a Yamaha PSR-530 keyboard, a Remo djembe, a plethora of various smaller percussion instruments, recorders of different sizes (the woodwind instrument) and other flute-like instruments, singing bowls, my voice, Cakewalk Sonar 7, an old computer condenser mic, and a Shure SM58 mic.
Posting my music online is a motivation for me to continue to do more. I have a couple songs I'm working on recording, and some I'm writing - I'm excited to see what comes next!
