Fast beat, sequenced monophonic synth bass and lead (with portamento!), and a Roland JX-3P, plus GM to fill in the gaps. Inspired by Final Fantasy XIII-2 'Oerba' theme song 'Ruined Home Town' (aggressive version).

About the song
I have been working on a monophonic MIDI synthesizer project for the last few months, one that I'm seriously considering "crowd sourcing". It has all of the features that _I_ want, at any rate, particularly portamento and good quality filtering (it uses a popular microcontroller and minimal external components). This song is really a demo for the synth project, but I wanted to make it something REALLY GOOD, not just to demo the synth but because I like this kind of stuff. It was at least partially inspired by the Final Fantasy XIII-2 'Oerba' theme song "Ruined Home Town" (particularly the aggressive version, when monsters show up), and the Touhou Project theme 'Ten Desires' (Syrufit Remix, with vocals). I'm not sure where the song appears in the actual game [I simply found the song 'out there on the web' one day].
