Lyrics
atop the mountains of the east
appearing overnight
what was not there, now is
behold the towers that rise high
and the tall gate that surrounds this place of unknown origin
Upon nightfall large torch fires can be seen
lighting up the night sky in a blaze of glory
I have seen a city in the clouds
high up where no man dare tread
at night it's torch fires burn
by day, the city shines brightly in the sunlight for all to see
all eyes gaze upon this wonder
I stand in the garden of sacrament
to contemplate what is beyond
while the unspoken looms in the distance
an omen of the
final day when the destroyers return
or entrance into a new age of enlightenment
where the gods return to dwell among men
the elders gather, who will test their fate
and traverse to the mountain top
to find what lies there
be it The lost city of Antioch
or the citadels of Abaddon
I shall go, to risk body and soul
3 days journey up the mountain side
as I draw nigh the air is charged with a power like that of a great storm
the rocky ground below rumbles
lightening bolts arc down from the sky above
as we reach the gates of the city,
I can clearly see the etchings of antic
the gates open, robed one greets with body of shimmering light and outstretched hand
I enter into the city of the gods
appearing overnight
what was not there, now is
behold the towers that rise high
and the tall gate that surrounds this place of unknown origin
Upon nightfall large torch fires can be seen
lighting up the night sky in a blaze of glory
I have seen a city in the clouds
high up where no man dare tread
