About the song
It was mid February and I remember thinking, " what am I going to call my next music project?" then I slumped, and sighed, and thought, "what difference does it make nobody remembers me anyway so f*** it", I jumped in my Mercedes Benz and drove to the corner liquor store where four street cats were hangin out front of the building, some old heads from the block you know? When I got out the car one of them literally jumped back like he'd seen a ghost when we made eye contact, and said "that n*** there is a scarecrow" then his buddy said "mmhmm all the bull sh** stop when that n*** come round here".I ignored these fools and walked my ass in the store and bought me a 12 pack of Cores Light beer and drove back home still stumped on a project title for my next record.By now it was March and another Friday night had come to pass and I decided to cop me a 8 ball of Columbia's finest to kinda take the edge off and ease some of my inner pain I battle with on a daily basis, by now it's about 3:00 am, the so called witching hour, the hour of the dead and I'm on the 24th floor balcony of the Marriott Marquis by myself with a pen and a pad writing a rap song with no title by the time I got the 16th bar I just started howling high as hell by now SSSSSCCCCAAAARRRREECROOOOOWW! I repeated this about ten times when I was joined by some people apparently high or drunk or both, hangin' off thier blacony above me,repeating after me SSSSCCCCAAARRREEEEECROOOOOOOOOOWWWW! and that's about the time I realized the hook for the song and the title for the project would be " "Scarecrow" as I gazed aimlessly into the night sky of the city of Atlanta..
