Christ life is not always the easy thing
The gold get refined in the fire it often brings
Trials, tribulations and eventually change
Cuz He loves us way to much just to leave us the same
Could be said that God Himself has been perceived as insane
Cuz He sent His only Son for the guilty to take the blame
And for this there’s redemption found in no other Name
False gods lead to flames regardless of what they claim
There’s no words under heaven to proclaim what I’ve seen
Just a gleam in my eye and a hunger for Elohim
Did it really happen to me, or is this just a dream?
I found my true life and put to death the old me?
Every snag, every snare, I run to God for my help
Because He cares, He’ll be there, still saving me from myself
And this is not a simple expression of living right
But a whole new creation in the image of Christ

Christ Life, help me to draw near
Tell me what You want in my heart, and I’ll hear
I was couldn’t see in the dark, it’s now clear
Yet here, a dark mirror, of the glory to appear
Christ Life, help me to persevere
Through refinement of my soul, however severe
Turn my faith into gold, prove me sincere
The Lord’s year, coming near, and never to disappear

Christ life is not always to feel good
The joy of the Lord is often misunderstood
Cuz Christ suffered and died, He did it for men
We addicted to ourselves and a slave to our sin
We build walls in our hearts, lock our doors to begin
Do anything that we can keeping God from within
And when we come to Him, it’s a one eighty spin
You compromise in your walk, you’ll be the devils again
But if we hold fast, we’re adopted by God
We the heirs to Christ’s throne, and never to be forgot
The Way, Truth, Life never possibly stopped
Oppose the Rock, and find out when He comes for His flock
Evil reigns for a time, but we watching the clock
They gonna shudder at His voice, cry out as they drop
Proclaim Christ with their tongues, their hearts will be shocked
In Galatians six seven, God will not be mocked

Christ life is how we become free
Gives us hope, faith, love and a comforting peace
He bought us with a price by hanging upon a tree
And all we gotta do to receive it is to believe
Gives men the greatest reason as a purpose to exist
To exalt a loving God who sent Him into our midst
Who blesses beyond measure off an infinite list
There’s much to this relationship than bracelets and fish
So Messiah came to lead, the Spirit came to stay
There’s no need or a reason for people ever to stray
Cuz Jesus sparked a fire in the deadness of the night
The world didn’t see it cuz darkness resists the light
Get the Word in your heart, pray for spiritual sight
Ask the Spirit for His gifts to give you weapons to fight
Cuz this is not a simple expression of living right
But as supernatural living known as Christ life
