OVER THE EDGE is a 12-channel remix/granulation of my 1991 composition “Off the Edge” that explores various new pathways through the original work (published on a CD of Oliver’s electroacoustic music entitled “Icicle Blue Avalanche,” earsay 1998).

About the song
“Off the Edge” was created in 1991 using three sound generating boxes controlled by an ATARI computer running C-LAB NOTATOR software. "Off the Edge" was commissioned by composer Paul Dolden for his guest-curator presentation that year of a “concert carte blanche” hosted by Réseaux des arts médiatiques. In the original work, you can hear my interest in highly dense sounds. But at the time I was not satisfied with the slow working method and lack of dynamic possibilities offered by granular synthesis (mainly due to insufficient speed of computers).
