About the song
"Shaggy Old Dog is a great number featuring only silky smooth electric guitar riffs and vocals oozing with personality, and who needs anything else? It's fun ..." Irene Jackson, Gods of music
Lyrics
He ain’t exactly handsome, looks like an egg-sucking-dog.
He ain’t what you’d call pretty, and he eats like a hog.
But I wouldn’t go nowhere without my shaggy old dog.
I tried to teach him tricks, but you know it’s hard.
Still he doesn’t bring the slippers, nor ain't he a good guard.
He would only wag his tail and sleep in my backyard.
The other day I thought, that he would chase the cat (chase the cat, chase the cat).
But as you might have guessed, it was the other way ‘round instead.
I love my shaggy old dog, someday he’s gonna make me mad.
