When churchianity had failed me, and I 'hit bottom' with my faith, the Lord brought back to memory this song, the first one I ever wrote, around 1972 while a Junior in high school.

This is one of the first songs I wrote. At the time I wrote it (1973), I was playing the guitar for a group called "God's Creation Company" which was a ministry of Calvary Lutheran Church in Federal Way, Washington. There were about 30 singers and dancers, a 5 person band, and 5 persons on the sound and lighting crew. GC Company did monthly concerts all year, and toured the 5 NW states in the summer. After I'd written the song, I played it for our director, Mrs. Phyllis Nansen, and asked her if Lewis, our best male vocalist, could sing it. Mrs. Nansen said "no, Lewis is not going to sing that song" and after a pause that seed like an eternity to my fragile ego, she said "you are going to sing it at the next performance". My excuse mode went into overdrive, but Mrs. Nansen wasn't buying any of it. In time, I became quite the ham, and I am grateful to Mrs. Nansen for giving me a push.
