Another meloncholic track with a synth-pop feel to it. I tried to add elements of jungle to the verse beats but I don't know if it's noticable. The chorus slows down about 5 bpm's to give it more a down-tempo feel to it. Another one with the usual

About the song
Line of Departure is dedicated to my brothers of 1st Battalion 3rd Marines and to those Devil Dogs who gave the ultimate sacrifice. In memory of Sgt Rafael Peralta; your actions are not forgotten. Those were good times on the big island. You will always be remembered.

With all the bad publicity that the news stirs up about the military and rarely good aspects are shown. This just my way to show some appreciation. Although I do believe that the government is handling the situation without tact. I still support our efforts of the men and women who sacrifice their time (especially with love ones), goals, comforts and sometimes ultimately their lives. I could go on a rant about the issue, but that's not why this song is written.

This song will eventually have lyrics but I'm having a tough time going about expressing the character of someone going to war. All the fears, hopes, worries, and confusion each person feels before they enter the combat zone.

There are so many bullshit songs about the opposition of the war. Many are just jumping on the bandwagon. Songs written to just get exposure.
