About the song
This was one of the first couple of songs I ever wrote, and rightly or wrongly, I still feel it's one of my best.
Kindly arranged and performed by Patrick Jordon
(US)
I've loved his voice for a long time and was glad that he agreed to do this version.

The song's about finding out that the one you love has totally betrayed you.
This must be one of the worst feelings, and Patrick's very slow delivery I think puts that over well, more poignant I reckon.
The song (and Patrick's vocals etc) had a great review from Hitquarters.com (Jan 05)
Many thanks Patrick.
(as with most of my lyrics, these are open to co-writes with new music)
Lyrics
THE GRASS I KNOW IS GREENER

The grass I know is greener on the other side,
Maybe I’d be well advised to try,
The field that I’m walking in is barren brown and dry,
And the situation often makes me cry inside.

I know I’m sailing solo even though there’s someone there,
Waves are rising even more,
I know I’m sailing solo ‘cause I know she doesn’t care,
The water must be calmer on another shore.

CHORUS
The grass I know is greener, the taste of life much sweeter,
The world looks more alluring through the open door,
‘Cause she’s sure opened up my trusting eyes,
She’s started telling lies.

The grass for me is greener on the other side,
Does she realise, or wonder why?
I don’t need her now, we don’t see eye to eye,
I’ve found my wings, see how high I can fly.

CHORUS
The grass I know is greener, the taste of life much sweeter,
The world looks more alluring through the open door,
‘Cause she’s sure opened up my trusting eyes,
She’s started telling lies,
She’s started telling lies.
