H.I.V. was the second piece to be realised at the EMS in City University and was created as a personal response to the disease which has ravaged entire generations.
In three movements the piece is a sonic meditation - a journey into the internal effect of the virus on the body, from transmission (movement I) to infection (movement II) and proliferation (movement III) and is a memorial to those who have suffered.
H.I.V. received its world premiere at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London in 1999 and was later awarded an honorary mention at the 22nd Luigi Russolo International Composer Competition in 2000.
